PFEIFER, NANCY JO (GARGASZ)

On Friday, November 20, 2015, at 12:37 p.m., Nancy (59), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend left us too soon to join a team of angels in heaven. Nancy passed on a golden autumn afternoon surrounded by a circle of love and compassion.  She was hospitalized after suffering traumatic aneurysms on November 11th, five weeks shy of her 60th birthday. Her family is comforted by the brilliance and meaning of her life. Nancy leaves her husband of 23 years, Hans Peter Pfeifer, her children, Elissa Cachon, Frances Cachon (Jeff Smith), Alice Pfeifer Hanov (Steve Hanov), and Bill Cooper, and grandchildren, Grace Harkai, Ellie and Alec Smith, Lillian, Katrina and Zachary Hanov along with her sisters Pauline (Chuck) and Marie (Terry), and brothers, Mike (Janice), Tim (Jeanie), and Bob (Kate). Predeceased by her brother Ed (Wanda), and sister Susie (Kirk), a large extended family and many, many cherished friends around the world. Nancy was born on December 18, 1955 in Lorain Ohio. Her journey included caring for the elderly, successfully managing the Pelee Club, and becoming an accomplished entrepreneur; establishing two wonderful businesses--  Alles Gute, Pelee Island and The Bell House B & B, Harrow. Never one to give up in difficult situations or circumstances, her legacy is one of hard work and determination. She attributed her success to an unwavering faith in God and the power of love and kindness. For several years at the Holy Family Retreat Centre House (Oxley) Nancy helped deliver weekly masses to Mexican Migrant Workers and hosted picnics to support those who work far from home and their loved ones. She was someone whose light truly made the world a better place. All that she did was done with purpose, empathy, kindness and love. Universal mother, teacher, nurturer, and lover of books and nature—Nance was so many wonderful things to so many people—her physical absence will be deeply missed, but her spirit, smile, and contagious laughter will endlessly guide us.
